Table browser
Filter, sort and edit rows without writing SQL. Edits stay drafts until you save them.
Open a connection and pick a table in the Navigator. A single click previews it in a reusable tab. Double-click to keep the tab open.
Find the rows you need
Type in the filter field to pick a column, an operator, and a value. Values are suggested as you go. On a foreign key column you can also filter by the related table's columns, like orders whose customer lives in Berlin.
Faster still: right-click a cell and choose Filter by Value. On a null cell it adds an IS NULL filter.
Or describe it. Type “unpaid orders from last week” and pick Ask AI. It replaces your filters and may set a sort too, so glance at what it built. Free accounts get 20 of these a week; Pro has no limit.
You can switch a filter off without deleting it. Useful when you are hunting for the one that hides everything.
Click a column header to sort ascending, again for descending, a third time to stop. Shift-click another header to sort by it as well.
A related cell has a small arrow. Click it to peek at the record it points to, or at the rows that point back. Open in Table opens those rows in their own tab.
The row count may be an estimate on large tables. Click it to get the exact number.
Filters, sorting, and the column layout are remembered per table on this device.
Edit rows
- Double-click a cell, press Enter, or just start typing.
- Change the value and press Enter. The edit becomes a draft.
- Click Save to write your drafts to the database. Review shows them first.
To throw drafts away, open Review and choose Discard all, or right-click a cell and choose Discard Change. Cmd+Z (Ctrl+Z) undoes the last change and Cmd+Shift+Z (Ctrl+Shift+Z) brings it back.
Use the toolbar's + → Add row for a new row, or right-click a cell and choose Duplicate Row. To drop a new row before saving, click Discard row where its checkbox would be.
To delete saved rows, tick their checkboxes and click Delete, or right-click a cell and choose Delete Row for just that one. Tamery asks before anything goes.
A few more things that save time:
- Paste a block from a spreadsheet, or copy cells back into one.
- Select several cells, edit one, and press Cmd+Enter (Ctrl+Enter) to write that value into all of them.
- Fill Down copies the top value of a selection into the cells below it.
- Set Null clears a value to
NULL.
Without a primary key, Tamery finds a row by a unique key with no nullable columns, or else by its values. When an edit or delete would reach more rows than you picked, it tells you how many first. Adding rows still needs a primary key, and generated columns are read-only.
Changing filters or sorting clears drafted cell edits, so save them first. If you forget, undo brings them back. New rows you have not saved yet stay.
Choose how data looks
Cmd+Shift+E (Ctrl+Shift+E) switches to the documents view, where each row is a card with expandable JSON. Press it again for the grid.
In the grid, drag column edges to resize and headers to reorder. The column menu hides or pins a column and resets widths or order.
Distinct Values in the column menu shows the most common values with their counts, plus the minimum and maximum. Click a value to filter by it.
A foreign key column shows a readable name from the related table next to each ID, so you know who customer 42 is without opening another tab. Tamery picks a column like name or email on its own. Show Labels in the column menu picks another one or turns it off.
A time stored with a different time zone than yours shows the stored value, then your local time.
Press Space on a cell to peek at its full value.
Change the structure
Use + in the toolbar or the header to add a column. Right-click a column to edit it, or a table in the Navigator to rename or drop it. See Navigator and tabs for creating tables, views, and schemas.
What you can change depends on the database engine. For changes across several tables, use the schema visualizer.
Generate test data
Choose ⋯ → Seed data, check the generator Tamery picked for each column, choose how many rows you want, and insert. This writes real rows to your database, so point it at the right one.
One run inserts up to 10,000 rows. Free accounts get 10 runs on each device. Pro removes the limit.
To get rows out of a table, see Export and code.
