Sharing tables

Send anyone a read-only link to a table, with your filters and columns.

A share is a link like share.tamery.app/… that shows one table's rows to anyone who opens it, without a Tamery account. Viewers see it the way the table looks in Tamery and can scroll to load more rows, with the mouse or the keyboard (Tab into the table, arrows to move). They cannot edit or reorder anything — the rows stay in the sort you set. Search engines and AI crawlers are told to keep shared links out of their results and training data, so only people you send the link to find it.

Share a table

Sharing needs a Tamery account and a connection synced with Full (see Security), since Tamery's servers read the rows from your database each time the link refreshes.

  1. Open the table and set it up the way you want it seen: filters, hidden columns, column order and sort.
  2. Open the ⋯ menu in the table toolbar and choose Share.
  3. Enter a name and an optional description.
  4. Click Share. The link is copied.

Before saving, Tamery checks that its servers can reach the database. A database on localhost, on a private network, behind a VPN or in a SQLite file can't be shared, and the dialog says why.

The share shows the columns the table shows, in the same order, sorted the way the table is. With filters on, Apply the table's filters decides whether viewers see only the matching rows.

OptionWhat it does
RefreshHow long viewers see the same rows before Tamery reads them again: Live, Every minute, Every hour or Every day. An open page picks up new rows on its own until the viewer scrolls past the first rows.
ExpiresThe link stops working after 1, 7 or 30 days, or never.
Max rowsThe most rows viewers can scroll through. Pick a preset (100, 500, 1,000, 5,000 or 10,000) or type your own number up to 10,000. Filter or sort the table so the rows that matter fall inside the limit.
Require a passwordViewers enter the password once to open the link. It needs at least 4 characters.

A table can have as many links as you need, each with its own filters, columns and sort: for example one link per customer, or one sorted by date and one by total. Change how the table looks and choose Share again to make another link.

Change or stop sharing

Choose Share in the same menu to copy a link or change it. The dialog opens on the link saved with exactly what the table shows now; when the table has other links, the menu under the title switches between them and New link starts another. Save changes also stores the table's current filters, columns and sort in the link you picked, and the dialog says so when they differ.

Manage shares in the dialog, or Shares in the account menu, opens share.tamery.app, which lists every shared link once you sign in there with your Tamery account. A share whose rows stopped loading for viewers is marked there. Viewers of such a link see that the database is not answering, with Try again to load the rows once it is back. When only a later batch of rows fails, viewers keep the rows they have and get Try again at the bottom of the table. Click Stop sharing to turn a link off for everyone.

Deleting a connection stops sharing its tables.

Limits

The Free plan keeps up to 3 links at a time; expired links don't count, so a link that ran out frees its place. Pro has no limit.

Viewers can scroll through as many rows as the link's Max rows allows, up to 10,000. Sort or filter the table so the rows that matter come first.
